Free Email Address

CwazyMail might come with its own crazy cat mascot, but there’s nothing crazy about this solid, fully functional email program Free Email Address.

We tried out CwazyMail (www.cwazy.net) recently and were pleased with many things – the ease of signup, the simple yet fully functional interface, the ability to use it on the go and the solid infrastructure.

Background

CwazyMail began as a free email service in 2001. It’s a small email service but one of the few smaller services still offered free to members. The initial customer base, according to CwazyMail, was three users, but it quickly grew to 110,000 users. That number grew by 90,000 when the service acquired Zapo.net in 2003 Free Email Address.

In 2005, the site struggled with funding issues. Instead of closing, a decision was made to begin charging users for the service. Membership fell dramatically, and in 2009, the site began offering free email accounts again and its membership has been growing since.

How does it operate?

Currently, CwazyMail’s servers are located in Texas. Soon, they will be relocated to the UK.

CwazyMail says its accounts are built on Open Source servers Free Email Address . It offers IMAP, POP3 and two different email platforms on which to check email with your browser. It’s also compatible with your iPhone, your Blackberry, and both Mac and PC computers.

If you want to use it via the internet, you can certainly do so, but you can also get email through Outlook Express, Thunderbird and the usual email clients. We like the versatility of this email program and especially the ability to get our email on the go.

How does it work?

We found signing up with CwazyMail to be easy and quick. It’s a highly efficient system that doesn’t require a lot of personal information or many screens to click through. You choose a user name, you choose a password, you choose a domain and you are ready to get and receive email.

We tested CwazyMail out immediately by sending and receiving some mail. We found that when we sent mail from our CwazyMail accounts from the internet interface, the email arrived in our inbox almost immediately. We then sent some emails to our CwazyMail address including forwarded emails and a couple of emails with photos.

Again, the emails appeared in our inbox quickly, and there was no delay in transferring the email from our primary email account to our CwazyMail account. The photos were clean and crisp and downloaded quickly.

We decided we like the simple and easy-to-navigate interface at CwazyMail. There’s another highly popular email program that most of us have used and we find it at times to be very confusing. What we like about CwazyMail is that it provides the same service without all the ads, but with the same bells and whistles.

CwazyMail is a solid choice for those looking for a new email platform. We think it would be a “cwazy” choice to overlook this quality email program.
